Let’s drive my car all the way to Kyushu.
It was a day in early spring, though the wind still held a chill.
I decided to finally embark on a road trip to Kyushu—something I had long wanted to do.
My plan was simple: set a rough timeframe for the trip and just see how far I could get while sightseeing along the way.
Since my car is quite compact, I decided not to push myself too hard; I would use local roads when tired and take ferries to cover longer distances efficiently.
Here is a general overview of the route I took:
I avoided driving on expressways in the Kansai region as much as possible (the scenery gets monotonous, and the driving is a bit intimidating!), opting instead to travel via Shikoku to reach Kyushu, where I focused my driving and sightseeing on the central and southern parts of the island.

For the return leg, I traveled from Shibushi Port to Osaka, then crossed the Kii Peninsula, combining a ferry ride with a drive along the coast.
Before I knew it, the trip had stretched to 12 days—I hope this account serves as a helpful reference for your own travels!
