Hotel Yunojin, a hot spring inn just the right distance from Tokyo
Hotel Yunojin is a hot spring inn located in Minakami Town, Gunma Prefecture.
Minakami Onsen is famous, but Yubiso Onsen is located a little further towards Tanigawadake.
Previously, I stayed at Hotel Yunojin when I was traveling alone by train and bus, but this time I was traveling by car.

There was a special plan at じゃらんJyaran where you could stay in a special room at a low price, so I made a reservation right away.
This time I made a reservation 2 days in advance.
Please use this as a reference for a model plan where you can easily stay at a hot spring inn for 1 night and 2 days on the weekend and enjoy nearby sightseeing and roadside stations.
“Hotel Yunojin” is less than 10,000 yen per person and includes a night and two meals, and you can enjoy a large public bath and an open-air bath.
Hotel Yunojin is located in Yubiso Onsen in Minakami-cho, Gunma Prefecture.
Yubiso Onsen is written in kanji as ゆ桧曾, but at first I found it too difficult to read.
It takes about 2 and a half hours to get there from Tokyo using the Kanetsu Expressway.
It’s just the right distance to feel like you’re traveling, not too far away.
Check-in was at 3pm, so I left the house in time for check-in.
We will have a light lunch at SA on the way and prepare for the buffet dinner in the evening.
And we arrived after 3pm.
The bridge in front of the hotel was old and it was a little scary to drive, but we arrived safely.
Check in, pick up your yukata and amenities on the first floor, then head to your room.
You will need to decide on your dinner time and tomorrow’s breakfast time when you check in, so it is best to decide before you check in.
Since there are no extra hotel staff, you cannot expect irregular responses such as later time changes.
A special room facing the mountain with large windows and dazzling greenery.
Last time I stayed, I stayed in a room along the river, so this time I’ll be in a room on the opposite side.
This is our special room for tonight.
The futon was already laid out.
I think there are about 12 tatami mats in the tatami area alone.
It’s quite spacious, and the tatami decorations give it a luxurious feel.
It’s a large room with bright green windows.
The room I stayed in before was like a Japanese-Western room, so the window was a little higher than eye level.
The windows are placed a little lower here, giving a more spacious impression.
It’s a pretty spacious room with a sitting area.
Of course, the vanity and toilet are separate from each other, so you can enjoy a relaxing time.
We took a short break after enjoying the tea and sweets we had prepared.
You can use tap water.
Take a walk to the nearby footbath
The area around the inn is generally quiet and relaxing.
There’s still time until dinner, so I decided to go to a footbath spot a few minutes walk away.
Last time I visited, there was no hot water, so this was my first time taking a footbath.
You can use the footbath by donating 100 yen per person to the donation box in the back for maintenance costs.
The footbath was not too hot and had just the right amount of water.
There is also a section where you can massage the soles of your feet.
It was a short time before dinner, but it felt good.
Yunojin has many activities within the hotel.
After returning to the hotel, I took a short walk around the hotel.
There is a souvenir corner next to the lobby on the first floor.
It’s quite large and has a wide variety of products, so many people will buy souvenirs here.
Then, we headed to the table tennis corner on another floor.
There were also three table tennis tables.
There is also a karaoke room and a game corner.
Actually, one of the reasons I stayed at Hotel Yunojin this time was to use this table tennis table to play table tennis.
As soon as I saw that the table tennis table was vacant, I excitedly went to the front desk and asked to borrow one.
However, unfortunately, it seems that it is not possible to rent it right away, but it is possible to rent it from 17:00. . (Even though it’s empty right now…)
I was thinking of renting a room and playing table tennis, taking a bath before dinner, and having dinner, but I realized that I couldn’t do that, so I gave up.
I’m going to take a hot spring bath before dinner.
One of the reasons I revisited Hotel Yunojin is because of the wonderful bath.
Both the public bath and the open-air bath were spacious and didn’t feel rushed, which is something that impressed me when I stayed there previously.
When I visited around 5pm, there were 5 to 6 people using the hot springs for an early dinner.
I used the open-air bath, but I was able to maintain a certain distance while soaking in the hot water, so it didn’t feel that bad.
Since you cannot take photos of the hot springs, I will introduce them from the hotel’s website.
The indoor bath was also spacious and really comfortable.
The bath can be used until 24 hours.
For dinner, choose a time slot for the second half of the group.
Dinner will be eaten buffet style at the dining hall.
There are also additional single-item dishes, so those who are not satisfied with the buffet menu can choose from additional menu items.
There are two time periods, and we chose the latter one.
I went there just in time, but not all the seats were occupied, so I secured a seat before going to get my meal.
This place offers unlimited alcohol and soft drinks, so tipsy beer drinkers were on their way to refilling multiple beers.
Hotel Yunojin’s buffet menu does not use high-quality ingredients, but there are appetizers, sashimi, beef stew, seasonal shrimp and asparagus skewers, and soba noodles.
Of course, we also have edamame and fried chicken to go with beer.
If you take a complete menu, your plate will be full.
This is the first round.
The sashimi and sushi looked delicious so I went for it.
The sashimi, shrimp and asparagus skewers were delicious.
On the second round, I had a second helping of sashimi, chawanmushi, and miso soup.
I was able to eat quite a variety of food, and I was satisfied with the mini cake dessert and coffee.
The second half of the team will have fewer and fewer items, so it is important to make sure you get what you are aiming for before returning to the table.
When I returned to my room and took a breather, it started to rain.
After listening to the rain for a while, I relaxed my body in a massage chair and took an early rest.
The massage chair costs 200 yen for 10 minutes.
There is a money exchange machine next to the game corner.
If you wake up early in the morning, we recommend going for an early morning walk.
good morning.
I fell asleep early last night, so I woke up early the next morning.
I had some time before breakfast, so I decided to go for a little walk.
The rain that fell yesterday hangs over the mountains like mist.
I’m going to walk along the promenade in front of the hotel that I found yesterday.
It seemed like there was a campsite ahead, and it was pretty well maintained.
The mountains are beautiful.
We walked around the campsite and headed out to the park.
There was a place upstream of the river flowing in front of the hotel where you could go down to the riverbank.
The river water was very clean and clear, and I was able to take some great photos.
For breakfast, choose the first group
It’s time to go back to the hostel and have breakfast.
I flew for about 10 minutes, but there was already a line.
Everyone was thinking the same thing.
There were plenty of seats, so I chose the one I liked.
There were more people flying than I expected (myself included), so the buffet corner was quite crowded.
It was so crowded that it was hard to eat, so I blamed myself for flying around and being greedy.
It was just right for me to arrive a little late.
Breakfast is like this.
There are plenty of side dishes to go with the rice, and your plate will fill up quickly.
The konnyaku and fish were delicious.
Most of the menu items were the same as the last time I came, so I guess they don’t change the items they offer too much to keep costs in mind.
For dessert, I had cut fruit in syrup, yogurt, and coffee.
It’s nice to have something sweet at least.
It was delicious today too.
Thank you for the meal.
Check-out is at 11am, so I could have stayed a little longer at the inn, but the hot springs were only available until 10am, and I wanted to go back after sightseeing at nearby Mt. Tanigawa, so I decided to take a quick soak in the hot springs before checking out. I’m here.
There were no other guests except me at this time before check-out, so I was able to have the outdoor bath all to myself.
This time may be a hidden gem time.
After refreshing myself in the bath, I got ready and checked out.
I also received a discount ticket on the way home.
After this, I did a little sightseeing around Mt. Tanigawa and Doai Station, which is famous for Mogura Station, and did a lot of shopping at the roadside station near Minakami Station before heading home.

It was a casual trip of 2 days and 1 night, but it was fun.
Impressions of staying at Hotel Yunojin
Although some of the facility’s facilities have aged, the overall condition was clean and there were no complaints.
The room itself was a special room, so it felt luxurious, and the hot springs felt spacious and relaxing the last time I stayed there, so I really like it.
It appears that cost control is quite strict.
Only the bare minimum number of employees are on staff, so you can’t expect them to respond in accordance with the so-called manual or provide detailed responses to individual customers.
Last time I stayed there, I went to the front desk to ask if I could change the meal time after checking in, but it was rejected without even asking, and this time as well, there was no flexibility in renting out the table tennis table. .
There was no jacket provided in the room to wear over the yukata, so it might be a little chilly this coming season.
I felt that the time that the hot springs could be used was 1 to 2 hours shorter than other facilities, but I didn’t feel it was particularly inconvenient.
In this environment, I was able to stay in a nice room with hot springs and two meals for about 9,700 yen per person, so I think this is the result of being creative in order to offer this price.
It’s nice to stay at a luxury inn where you are treated respectfully as a guest, but I also thought it would be nice to stay at a regular hot spring inn like Yunojin, which you can easily use on weekends without having to strain your shoulders.
I want to use it again.

A quick note: The parking lot can accommodate 110 cars, and there is also a second parking lot, so there is no need to worry. There was a sign inside the hotel that said it was the best deal to book from the hotel’s official website. You will receive a 1000 yen discount ticket per person on the way home. Although you won’t receive the warm hospitality of a waiter, you will be satisfied with the meals, hot springs, and other facilities. There is a high possibility that we will not be able to accommodate sudden schedule changes or requests, so please stay with that in mind. The hot springs are empty after your meal, so I recommend it. Depending on the date, you may be able to stay for 6,000 yen or 7,000 yen! What I regret now is that I flew in during mealtime and put myself into the crowd. Even if you go 5 minutes after your scheduled time, you’ll still be in time and there will still be food left.
